Pajaro Valley Guaranteed Income Coalition Pilot
Santa Cruz Ventures works to mobilize and strengthen the economic and political power of rural and Latino working-class families on the Central Coast through a network of programs. Blum is collaborating with Ventures and Monarch Services to conduct and evaluate a pilot guaranteed income/financial capability training program, focusing on Latina mothers and survivors of domestic violence. Participants will be interviewed monthly during the year-long program and for six months after the pilot is completed. The project aims to produce information on the impact of a monthly guaranteed income stipend and/or financial capability training on economic security, housing, job, and food security, family relationships, and mental health and well-being – information that will be valuable for both community agencies and policymakers.
